TCS Majestic

The TCS Majestic (CV-23) is a Bengal-class strike carrier. Even though they were originally designed to work as both an independent and fleet roles. It is part of a battle-group along with the TCS Salamis (CA-15), a Gettysburg-class heavy cruiser, the TCS Odysseus (DD-520) and TCS Lancelot (DD-592), a pair of Gilgamesh-class destroyers, and typically 4 corvettes as long range scouts.

Of note, the Majestic is a more streamlined revision of the Bengal-class, due to cost saving measures being applied. It measures 685 m and has a displacement of 75000 tonnes. It has a crew of 540 and 102 spacecraft on board. However, it has one double-wide launch tube, allowing it to launch broadsword-class heavy utility platforms.

Life on it is quite similar to modern US Navy carriers with several exceptions:

  • The ship is quite stable as it is in space
  • The bunks are not shared, rather each pilot gets an alcove they can personalize, due to the nature of the long term assignment
  • Some rooms are set up with 360 degree usage, by creating artificial gravity fields on the ceilings and walls.
  • The areas are much more spacious. This allows different interactions, and reduces the need for conformance.

There are several zones.
The Green zone is a low security zone. It basically is a place where people cannot talk about their missions, and civilians are allowed to mingle freely.
The Yellow zone is where NCOs and Officers work, they can discuss freely unless secrecy states otherwise.
The Red zone, such as Command and Control are where the classified discussions and need to know operations happen.

Civilians on the Majestic

Civilians are a key part of the Majestic, in certain operations. They are expected to treat the staff with courtesy and respect the rules as they are guests on a military vessel. The civilians are operating on government property. Some roles the civilians may have:

  • Scouting/Informants
  • Open intelligence
  • Finances/accounting
  • Coordination with in-system-security
  • Bounty hunting - renting a bunk while performing legally sanctioned bounties.
  • Refugee related operations (Escort, transport, etc…)

The Majestic has a functional brig with an extended capacity due to the fact it is located in a pirate rich area.

The newest Bengal-class Strike Carrier produced by the Confederation Navy, TCS Majestic is among the most advanced warships in space. With six full squadrons of fighters, plus auxiliary craft and an onboard marine contingent, TCS Majestic carries power projection capability unrivaled by any other single unit in the sector. Armed with a main battery of eight antimatter guns plus a secondary armament of fire-linked heavy laser turrets, Majestic is highly capable of defending itself from Fighter or Capital Ship attack.
